Job Responsibilities and Daily Work

As a DOT Delivery Assistant, your main duties will include assisting with the delivery and setup of furniture directly in customer homes and ensuring customer satisfaction at all stages of the process.

Your workday will start early, and you’ll work each route until completion, lifting and moving items weighing up to 150 pounds with a team-focused approach. Safety, communication, and meeting delivery deadlines are top priorities.

You will occasionally operate the delivery vehicle and may support warehouse or showroom activities as needed. Documentation of deliveries is handled via mobile or paper tools provided by the employer.

A clean driving record and the ability to pass background and drug screenings, including THC testing, are required. You will also need to be able to achieve DOT certification, covered by the company.

Pros of the Role

Employees benefit from paid training, a company-matched 401K, generous discounts, and health and wellness programs, making this a great fit if you value stability and advancement potential.

Cons of the Role

The job is physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting throughout your shift and working outdoors in various weather conditions. It is not suitable for those who prefer a desk job or cannot commit to early start times.

There are also strict requirements for passing drug and background checks. Scheduling is set but can run late depending on route completion.

Verdict: Should You Apply?

If you’re physically fit, reliable, and looking for career growth with excellent benefits and reliable pay, the DOT Delivery Assistant role is a strong option. This role rewards those who work hard, enjoy a hands-on environment, and value financial flexibility.
