What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day
This role centres on supporting the Africa Distributor Market team by assisting with trade marketing plans, compiling presentations and managing merchandising guidelines. You’ll communicate closely with distributors to ensure smooth operation across all levels. Responsibilities include collecting trade plan updates, refining proposals with the Trade Marketing Manager, and managing monthly feedback and reports. Additionally, taking part in cross-functional collaborations with sales, finance, and demand planning is daily business. Ad hoc marketing projects make the work varied and rewarding.
Main Advantages Working as a Trade Marketing Specialist
One top benefit of this role is the clear opportunity to grow your expertise within a global beauty powerhouse. There’s a strong emphasis on learning with access to Coty Academy. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical aid, pension, wellness programmes, 23 days’ leave, and flexible hybrid work so you can maintain work-life balance.
You’ll join a highly skilled, inclusive team, where diversity and individuality are celebrated. Career progression isn’t just possible, it’s actively encouraged – with the chance to explore global roles after a reasonable tenure.
Potential Drawbacks
Despite its many advantages, this role asks for substantial prior marketing experience, which could be a barrier for those starting their careers. Fast-paced environments also mean that handling multiple projects at once is the norm, so strong organisational skills are non-negotiable.
While flexibility is offered, the need to consistently deliver results across teams and manage complex plans may add pressure, especially during high-demand business periods.

For prospective employees invested in the beauty industry and trade marketing, this job represents an excellent stepping stone towards bigger things. If you have the qualifying experience and thrive in collaborative, dynamic workplaces, this opportunity is likely to pay off handsomely both professionally and personally.
